Fall Appeal 2025 | Director's Message

You've dedicated your life to the Lord, but have you surrendered your day to Him?
A fundamental resource of the CMCS Mission is Bishop Perry's Virtues of a Catholic Man (PDF). This outlines the qualities that define a Catholic man and guides us in making Christ the focal point of our lives. I would like to emphasize one of the eight virtues:
"A Catholic man has a clear understanding of what or whom he would sacrifice himself for if necessary."
Naturally, we all interpret this through our personal experiences, so let's explore this concept with a deeper perspective from the writings of our founding bishop:
"We need intentional living in order to navigate the mixed messages and false advice we pick up from the culture so that we can improve on the many ills that our society suffers today. Notice, the popular culture speaks to us loud and clear especially through the lives of celebrities and stars of stage and screen and sport that: ‘You should commit to nothing and no one, so that you might have everything!’ But, there are those who commit to nothing and lose everything. Christian philosophy has always set forth that life is lived best if there is some thing or some one we are willing to live for, even die for. For the Christ we love and admire did just that with us in mind. The saints and martyrs of Christianity lived in such a way."
Due to our commitment to intentional living, Catholic men have access to the core elements of our Faith, such as the daily readings, the Sacraments, and the rosary, among others. As CMCS-Men, we have these virtues clearly defined for us, along with (PDF) A Man's Prayer, which provide guidance, particularly during moments of darkness and confusion in life.
Many CMCS-Men have shared that when they feel distracted from nurturing their relationship with Jesus Christ, these resources help to refocus their hearts on how they can live for Christ. By dedicating each day to Him, we begin to see transformative changes in our lives.

Know what you want, the number one thing
today and tomorrow. Persevere and get it done."

If our efforts resonate with you on a personal level and it has been a while since you've contributed, we invite you to support our Catholic mission as we embark on our Fall Appeal. Your involvement can make a significant difference in our journey together!
We currently need $875.00 to reach our target of $1,000. Thank you for your generosity and support! This campaign will run until the first day of fall, September 22, 2025, or unless we reach our goal before then.
